Two Cities Later...

Mindy and I are now residing in York after a whirlwind adventure that almost left us homeless for a night in Leeds. But thanks to the kindness of some of Mindy's friends, we were put up in their flat that they had moved into just that morning. We were also assisted by one of their British friends who happened to have a van that could fit all of our luggage!

Let me tell you, that wasn't the only miracle Dave performed.. When we went out to eat in Leeds to Jino's (a Thai restaurant, not Italian like I though a place called Jino's would be) there was a 30 minute wait for a table, with no waiting area. But Dave, who went to university in Leeds, somehow through his connections at the restaurant got a table for the six of us - that they set up for us in the parking lot! There are pictures, but you'll have to wait until I have them loaded. (Btw Mindy has loaded quite a few of our pictures on her website that is linked just to the right of this post.)

It was all great fun in Leeds, but the next morning we headed over to York and immediately fell in love with the town. It is a bit on the touristy side - but hopefully that means more job opportunities in the shops. Again, I have some pictures - but they aren't loaded on a computer yet. Our hostel this time around is an old historic home in the city centre of York - it's quite grand and a lot of fun to explore. The weather has been brilliant (I'm picking up on English slang...watch out...) and I'm actually in short sleeves even though it's 60 degrees F outside. I'm impressed with myself for not being cold. But the time for jackets is soon to come - and it does get quite chilly at night.

Off to do some more job hunting!

Yay for random travel adventures!
If you stay in York I'll definately have to come visit. I adore York. Not to say that if you moved I wouldn't come see you...but the city is an incentive. :P
Hope the job search is getting better for you. ~K~
